Reiki First Degree Course - for self-healing and treating friends and family

My Reiki journey began back in 2015 at a yoga retreat on the Isle of Wight when I was given the opportunity to have a Reiki treatment. I was curious to know what it was all about and I loved it. They say that Reiki finds you and this is so true. I had never heard of it before but within twelve months I had completed my Reiki level 1 and 2 (1st and 2nd degree as it’s officially known) in the Usui System of Natural Healing (Usui Shiki Ryoho, named after the founder of Reiki, Mikao Usui). I was hooked!

I set up Forest Reiki in the New Forest in early 2016 and have been practising as a Reiki therapist ever since. I went on to gain my Reiki Master Practitioner qualification in 2018 and became a Reiki Master Teacher in July 2022. Since then, I have taught Reiki to a number of my clients which I’ve found so rewarding. I can always tell when someone is drawn to learning Reiki and encourage them to consider taking their first step into Reiki with me. So far, I have trained a number of my clients on a one-to-one and one-to-two basis here in my garden studio and I have seen at first-hand the positive influence Reiki has had both on their own lives and on those around them too.

Now, as demand and interest in learning Reiki grows and as some people prefer to learn as part of a larger group, I will be running my first group Reiki First Degree course at a beautiful venue tucked away near Sway, here in the New Forest. This will take place at the end of November 2023 with more courses running in early 2024.

I will still be offering Reiki level 1 courses on a one-to-one or one-to-two here at Forest Reiki. I have taught friends, sisters and have even done some ‘match-making’ of my clients which has worked really well. These courses are by mutual arrangement and take place during the week.

The beauty of Reiki is that it is accessible to all and anyone can learn it. The Usui Shiki Ryoho system of Reiki stresses the value of self-treatment as the core of the practice and encourages the treatment of friends and family. The student is ‘attuned’ to Reiki for life and is given everything they need to embark on their journey of healing, personal development and growth.

The Gassho meditation
The five Reiki principles as a guide to daily living and personal development
The basic Chakra system
How to protect your own energy
The importance of intention
Scanning and resonance
The importance of self-healing and how to practice Reiki on yourself
How to give your family & friends a full Reiki treatment with a series of simple hand positions
How to protect your own energy.

You will receive two attunements/initiations during the course to connect you with Reiki for life.

You will also be invited to attend a follow-up practice day.

On completion of the course, you will receive a comprehensive manual to refer to and a certificate.
